Yay! It's Restaurant Week! Currently it is Howard County's Restaurant Week(s) and Steve and I have been taking full advantage of the great deals many restaurants have to offer. Last night we went to Jordan's Steakhouse in Old Ellicott City, today we went to lunch at the Elkridge Furnace Inn, and next week we're going to dinner at AIDA Bistro and Wine Bar.

At Jordan's, I got fried calamari with garlic aioli for my first course, baby beat with goat cheese salad as the second course, and lobster risotto for the third course. Steve got tenderloin carpaccio for his first course, tomato mozzarella salad for the second, and grilled skirt steak for the third. We both got wine flights, I the whites and he the reds.

The portions were a bit smaller than I had imagined, but they were all delicious, however the lobster in the lobster risotto was very finely chopped so I missed the flavor of lobster a bit and the saffron risotto lacked a bit in flavor, nothing some fresh cracked pepper and salt couldn't save though. The table we sat at had a cushion-y type chair that I sat in and it had two pillows on it. I ended up having to sit on both pillows so I could reach the table haha. Thursdays at Jordan's there is live jazz so it was really cool to eat good food, drink good wine, and listen to jazz :)

Elkridge Furnace Inn is such a lovely place! I got roasted eggplant and tomato soup, chicken ventura which was chicken with artichoke, peppers, sundried tomato, and olive oil over angel hair pasta, and blueberry kuchen for dessert. Steve got fried calamari, tenderloin dijonaise with creamy polenta and green beans, and derby pie for dessert.

(Sorry about the quality of the pics, I took them with my Blackberry. Steve was embarassed that I didn't turn the flash off...)

We're making plans for Baltimore Restaurant Week... My top three picks are Sotto Sopra, The Oceanaire, & Meli.
